The following are our minimum entry requirements for undergraduate degree level study.

There is no upper age limit to studying at the University. You should be at least 17 years old by 20 September in the year you begin your course. If you are below this age, we may still consider you for admission but please contact us for more details.

International Students

The applicant must submit ;

  • a certified copy of High School Diploma, or Higher Secondary School Certificate, or General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE), or Higher Secondary Certificate, or Upper Secondary /Secondary School/ High School/ Senior High School Leaving Certificate, or Secondary Education Certificate, or Senior School Certificate, or Matriculation Examination Certificate,

  • transcripts or detailed mark sheets, to be released to MTU.

  • One passport-sized photograph

  • Photocopy of the passport (relevant page) or birth certificate

Note: English translations of these documents are necessary if they are in any language other than English

  • A copy of proof of English Proficiency if any

  • GCE “A” LEVEL, SAT , WAEC , WASSCE , NECO , JAMB, BACCALAUREATE. (OPTIONAL)

Our Mesarya Education House, offers NCUK Foundation Certificate leading to entry to a broad range of MTU and other 22 British Universities’ Bachelor’s degrees.

The NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) Programme is for international students whose school-leaving qualifications are insufficient for direct entry to undergraduate study and/or whose English language standard is below the necessary level. 

The IFY gives you a year’s preparation in academic subjects, English language and study skills up to the required level for progression onto undergraduate degree study.

The IFY is delivered at our city campus by Mesarya Education House academics and successful completion of the programme provides entry into a wide range of Bachelor degrees in MTU and other 22 British Universities’ faculties of Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences.

We offer September start dates depending on your chosen pathway and the degree you intend to progress on to.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you will need a recognised English Language qualification to be admitted onto any of the University’s degree programmes.

Acceptable minimum qualifications for Undergraduate study include:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System)an overall band of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component skill

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) of 87 (with no less than 20 in listening, 20 in reading, 22 in speaking and 21 in writing)

  • Pearson (Academic) of 60 overall with no less than 56 in any component

  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) of 169 overall with no less than 162 in any component

  • Trinity College Integrated Skills in English of a Pass in ISE II or above (if taken in the UK)

  • ENGLISH PASSWORD TEST  for international students as part of our English language admission requirements which is given by Mesarya Education House.
