Course Name: SOLAR ENERGY

Short Course Description: This course gives information about solar energy and energy use in architecture and is an address to the following topics: Sun, solar constant and spectrum distribution, solar-world astronomical relationship, solar declination angle, clock angle, angles between beam and collector, tracking surfaces angles, calculation of solar time, effect of the world atmosphere, solar cells, paranometer, heat transfer, thermal comfort, passive and active systems (solar heating and cooling, double glass application, greenhouse system, solar water heating, swimming pool heaters, thrombe wall), passive solar design (direct gain passive solar systems, mass storage wall and shading, energy efficient design, climatic parameters, design parameters). This course also includes building gains and losses.
